Your Number 1 Guitar Frustration
Learning guitar clearly has its frustrations. But, if it were too easy, then everyone would be able to do it, and it would loose its appeal and uniqueness.
However staying motivated is a real battle, and small frustrations can be a real obstacle, particularly when you’re just starting out. And, despite the wealth of information, advice, and lessons about playing guitar on the web, finding the right solution to your frustration, is still not easy.
In fact, just trying to FIND the solution on the web, is probably THE BIGGEST FRUSTRATION OF ALL!!
Anyway, having scoured the web, researching and analysing hundreds of sites, we’ve built up an extensive database of knowledge, which we’d like to share, to help everyone advance their guitar playing, and remove some of the barriers to progress.
Please add your frustrations below and we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction. Alternatively you can email me research@whichguitarsite.com Rgds Jon, Researcher, WhichGuitarSite

Where to begin!! I think one of my real basic frustrations is just getting my guitar in tune…anyway thanks for the Report, it’s really helped.
I guess the hardest thing is when you play something you have to change frets really fast and im still having trouble with my pinky.
Dropping the pick when strumming full chords. It’s terrible. Just got done dropping a big huge pick 3 times in 5 minutes. Maybe gotta go back to fingers and then just keep getting blisters on my thumb ?
Changing Frets and so much out there you don’t know where to start
i guess it’s finding a teacher that is just as determined as the student
Dear Jpon,
My frustration is I’m a singer/songwriter, self-taught on the guitar (I’m a professional violinist) so I’ve written many songs by ear and have no idea what chords I’m playing so if i don’t keep playing them sometimes I forget the chords and how they go! Also because I sing at the same time I strum super heavily, my right hand doesn’t move at the wrist well. I need to get in touch with my wrist!
thanks for any help1

I want to accompany myself singing not becoming a guitar hero, if i could play three cords to my fovorite songs i would be happy…and after that was accomplished move on to improving my guitar playing….
Frustrations: Fingers don’t want to do what I want them to as fast as I want them to!
Not enough hours in the day to play guitar!
Trying to learn all the tones and notes by ear and be able to instantly name and play them!
Accurate printable tabs. I would buy them if I could find good ones.
Although your lessons are very helpful, the thing that is getting to me how hard and long it is taking my finger form to get faster. If you have any suggestions, it would be great to hear them. Thanx.
Sincerly,
Robert
I have been picking up the guitar for years, but it has been a slow process. I get distracted by life and go months without touching it. My greatest frustration is knowing what songs to learn. I am not a music buff, and so I never know where to begin, and I often find that I practise the same old stuff until I get bored and quit again. How do I know where to start?? What songs should I learn as a foundation? I seem to pick difficult songs that I can never complete due to difficulty. Thanx, Chrystal.
not able to remember lyrics or chords without the book in front of me sammy
My biggest frustation is keeping a bear through out a complete song. I always seem to lose my timing
Hi, My bigest frustration is my fingers seem to short, and fat, i find it hard to play a note, and not have my finger(any one) hitting the string beside it or even one or two strings away. Thank you.
I am so frusturated that I can’t learn the ending solo to Stairway to Heaven no matter how hard I try. I mean, it also doesn’t sound right at all. I play the correct frets and rhythm but it doesn’t come out right.
really it’s not frusturating just a little hard but hey who cant do a challenge
sir i would like to play barre cords can you tell me the advantage i can play a few barre cords i am
still practising them is it worth while knowing them rather than using the open cords and i would like your help in getting a net that i could practise a song
I would like to be able to find simple songs with simple chord progressions so I can feel like I am actually learning something that I can use and feel good about. Playing scales and all is great for practice and such, but I would like to learn new songs as well. Beginner

Finding the right musicians to play with. Meaning, dependable people who leave their egos at home and try to work together to get the sound right.
