Where did this all begin?

Well, like most guitarists, it was Google. And what started with a few hours searching, soon become days. And the more searching we did, the more frustrated we became. There's so much stuff out there!. Tons of it!

However sorting out the good stuff, from the rubbish, is no easy task.

In fact one of the main problems is the sheer volume of content to wade through. And like most things on the web, the search results can be broadly categorised into two groups; the Enthusiasts sites, and the Professional sites. And you can find great content in both.

But the hardest task when searching, is to find stuff that's relevent to what you actually want to learn, and because many sites use general guitar type keywords to describe their sites, it's not until you actually visit the site, that you know if it's got the right sort of content for you.

Well, wouldn't it be great if all the guitar web sites were categorised into groups? So you could just find all the sites for Beginner Guitarists, or all the sites that were about Guitar Solos, or those that specialised in teaching Guitar Songs etc.

It's a great idea - we thought.

But the only way to achieve it, is to first define a system of independently scoring all the sites. And then actually visit the sites, and spend some time analyzing the content, to see how each one rates. From this you can then create a league table, which not only groups the sites together by type of content, but can also tell you which one delivers the best value.

Brilliant! So that's what we did.
